It’s Day 1 of finally taking charge and making the decision to start your business. 

You’re on cloud nine dreaming of all the stuff you are going to do, places you are going to visit and things you can FINALLY check off your list. 

You’re freaking empowered and nothings going to stop you… 

Right?

Welp… if you’re like most, that feeling is fleeting.

Overwhelm begins to set in.

Panic sweats and nervous tapping as you scurry really hard to ensure that everything is ABSOLUTELY perfect before you even take a step.

You begin to make lists on lists on lists trying to detail out every single piece that you need to get accomplished.

You write and rewrite your messaging and posts over and over because it just isn’t quite yet perfect.

You’re literally paralyzed with fear because you truly believe that things would be better IF ONLY you had better skills with tech or more money to throw at the thing.

Am I striking a cord? 

Now what? Are you screwed?

Absolutely not!! All it really takes is a bit of a perspective change. 

You see, I wasn’t really any different. In fact, I probably was the epitome of stress….

Literally vibrating out of control with anxiety. Feeling like I cannot even move until everything is PERFECT.

I would set deadlines of when I was going to get everything done … DO OR DIE…. but those deadlines would always pass. Things always took like 5 times longer than I ever thought.

And my bank account?

Better get a vacuum to suck up all the cobwebs.

So, what did make the difference?

What finally got me to get out of my own way, create the life experiences of my dreams and be able to help a lot of others in the process?

Building Relationships with People!

Here’s the reality. If you want to be successful in business, it requires people.

Period.

It doesn’t matter if you are an introvert or an extrovert.

It doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman.

It really doesn’t even matter what your business offers.

If you draw a line to what is at the root of any transaction in business, it’s people. 

Doing right by people is what matters and developing strong relationships with people is something that has always been the number one skill of any entrepreneur.

And the best part?

Building relationships is something ANYONE can do at ANY time. It requires no investment, no business assets and tools, or really any preparation.  It is also something that everyone already knows how to do. 

Your beta-self is saying, “Buttttttttt…. Jessicaaaaaaa….. I’m an introvert”

Time to flip that perspective and step into Alpha.

If you have a husband or wife, a boyfriend or girlfriend, children, friends or colleagues….heck if you ever interact with another human being in your life…. You not only know how to build relationships… you’re freaking good at it.

So time to let go of that limiting belief.

Not only is it something anyone can do – it’s also something that creates momentum and direction to your business and is exactly what you need in order to continue to evolve your business and refine your messaging over time. 

Perfect does not exist.

It’s an illusive concept – a place you will never get to.

You create the life you want through evolution and through refining a series of attempts and in doing so, the universe is able to come in and help co-create with you and provide you opportunities and results that are beyond what you could manually think of. 

Let me paint you a picture. Here are two scenarios.

1) You Wait To Build Relationships With People Until Everything Is “Perfect”

It takes weeks, months, even years…. But finally you feel READY.

You’re super proud of everything you have accomplished and are fired up!!

$10k months, here we come!

Only to realize that there is no one there checking you out.

You can’t understand why the checks aren’t hitting your account…

Everything is perfect but there’s one big thing missing… no one is there!

Now you gotta hustle your booty to get your perfect brand in front of people. 

Or….

2) You Start Building Relationships NOW!

Success in business is not a linear equation, people convert and buy from you at different times.

You need to start building your pipeline NOW because prospecting is like a funnel and people fall through and convert at different times.

As you talk to more people, your message refines and gets clear.

It’s the missing piece between your ideas and your ideal perfect.

Building relationships with people gets you into the thick of it and allows you to truly know how to evolve your message and offers in a very authentic way. 

I am not saying the other stuff isn’t important, it definitely is.

But here’s the key difference.

While you are building and refining everything for your business, you are actively taking action and building up your connection with your audience.

This will mean that people are in your funnel so when you finally do launch – it’s a conversation, there are people who care and are excited to see what you have to share.

It puts you in a position where you can see immediate results for the efforts you take instead of wondering why no one is taking action. 

The key here is remembering one very important thing.

It’s about RELATIONSHIPS.

These conversations with people aren’t about selling to people, they are about building friendships.

Treat people like people, not transactions.

We don’t need to prepare to make a friend. We just do it.

I know it can feel scary and intimidating, but here’s the truth. I am doing it right alongside you too.

At a certain point, being an Alpha means to decide to live your life on PURPOSE.

Meaning, EFF what anyone else thinks. All that does is lesson your own joy and happiness.

In my life, I have found that thinking that way can only get us so far.

Taking imperfect action is really what brings clarity.

Your message and your business evolves the more you practice.

Not the more you think.
